They say Korea is a land from a dream, it is so good that even all the deities and animals wanted to live there, and that the Korean people felt gratified to have chosen such a place as home.
Have you seen Korean art and examined the use of quiet and subdued colors used in paintings and ceramics? This creates a unique style of its own that respects nature in quiet harmony. There is no excess, the right materials being selected in scale with the surroundings. With all of these characteristics, the Korean aesthetic sense which depicts beauty with honesty and simplicity that is free of artifice.
Also meaning this isn’t any modern art. Koreans traditionally show an intense love of their land, an emotion felt so strongly that it has been reflected in their beliefs, philosophy, and religion. This feeling is so strong that even the mountains, rivers, coasts and seas, and the four seasons that nurture them, have played important roles in forming basic thoughts and relationships among the people of the peninsula since earliest times. I have never heard nature influence a people populace as strongly as they do in Korea.
