Teachers should never come up saying I love my good students and I don’t care for the bad ones. The acceptance of all makes for a true teacher. A teacher’s true quality is proved when he or she tries to convert a dull student to a bright and smart individual.
A teacher can be maximally effective when he or she treats each student alike and gives importance to each and every student’s problems. Only once the teacher gives himself completely will he be able experience the joys and satisfactions of being a teacher. A teacher can be well held in comparison with an artist. Frustrated artists are those who for one reason or another are unable to give themselves completely or unwilling to make a complete gift of their art. Similarly, the unhappiest teachers are those who bemoan the weaknesses of their pupils and the conditions under which they work. A teacher should be able to sense that it is their own half-hearted efforts that defraud student and make them uninterested in the work they are indulged in. A good teacher should understand the students properly.
Teaching is not an easy job. To teach means more than to lecture or explain before a group of students. The best teachers influence their students by having a personal contact with them, rather than in strict classroom situations. It is said that teaching and learning are complementary processes. For instance, if a teacher is meant to teach by learning and if his teaching is to be directed toward an individual, he must know that individual. A teacher should establish a good contact with the students to prove well in the profession.
It is not possible to completely educate another person . A teacher’s role is that of a helper in this process. Each person should work hard to educate oneself with the help and advice of a teacher. A teacher should be a guide and help in progressing forward to the way of success.
