September 27, 2007
Korean studies center at Harvard launches Korean literature magazine. The magazine is aimed to promote Korean literature in United States, so the authorities will continue to provide support,” said an official of the Korean Literature Translation Institute (KLTI).
The cost of the magazine was shared by Harvard University, the KLTI, and the Korea Foundation. The inaugural issue of “Azalea” features an interview with Kim Young-ha, one of the leading South Korean novelists, and three of his fictions in translation. It also contains some 50 poems by Ko Un, often mentioned as a candidate for the Nobel Literature Prize, Kim Ji-ha and Hwang Ji-woo.
