Visa Run to China

August 8, 2007

Chinese FlagVisa processing in China takes 2-4 days. Moreover the embassy staff members speak only Chinese or Korean. The use of English is very limited. You can get your visa at the Korean embassy in Beijing, where English language is used. But the flight to Beijing is very expensive plus the hotel charges are $100 per night.

If we talk about visa run then people prefer to go to Japan, while China is wonderful for mini vacations. The reason might be that when you go to Korean Embassy in Beijing you will find 1000 Korean students waiting in a line to notarize their student package to lengthen their stay in China. It’s better to go to Japan since it is convenient with regards to visa run.

The Hong Kong embassy is easy to find and is less crowded. Still you will find 100s of Chinese standing in a line waiting to get into the office. Even if you got in, they will tell that you will be issued after a week or so. It will be very helpful if you are able to meet some higher-ups there, still it will he approximately two and a half day of waiting.

What techniques do you recommend for visa runs? Please let us know.
