Seoul Korean Language Academy, located near Yeoksam Station in Gangnam Gu, is one of the Korean language classes. It’s has good environment, nice people, and the textbooks are good. In class they speak only Korean, which is exactly what you have to do, and it’s really helpful in learning Korean language. And its worth, you can speak good Korean whenever you feel like. You definitely learn better when you are at Seoul Korean language academy than just speaking with a Korean friend.
But it is just not worth for the beginners. The lessons are given only in Korean. This makes it like a real challenge for the beginners. You can take a look at the people who have been studying there for about six months or more, they finish up being nearly fluent in the language. During the class breaks, you can watch a number of students yapping away to the secretary in Korean. Among the students who do not take classes in Korean, you won’t find that level of proficiency. There are hundreds of Hagwon foreign teachers who have been here for years and cannot say a word in Korean language.
You will learn quickly at KLA because the teachers really push you to your limit, as they know the rules and all the Korean details and all the exceptions and complexities that are shown and practiced. They try to make the lessons feasible for us. It almost takes 6 months to study Korean. If you leave before these 6 months, it would be so difficult and when you try to say something in Korean no one will understand it.
The teaching method might be dry, but if you stick to it, and practice and do your homework during the week, the pay off is really good. The teachers go around the class and ask questions to every student. You will find real progress in Korean language.
