Does the pay for the teacher depend on their experience or qualifications? If so why do Korean teachers earn 1.6 million won, while the foreigners earn 2.2 million won at a hagwon in Daegu. Even though the Koreans work more, foreign teachers can get free rent (it may not be the best, but it counts).
A Korean teacher will make between 1 and 1.4 mil in a kiddy hagwon, or maximum of up to 2.0 mil. They generally have longer working hours, pick up and drop off by bus, do a lot of school chores, meeting parents, writing reports, plus extra work around the school that a foreign teacher won’t do. Some Koreans are paid more than the average foreigner though; those that have advanced degrees from high-status American universities. You might find someone making 6mil to 10mil during university vacations.
However there are some foreign teachers teaching Korean teachers English.
